Pair of cloth “Nurse Shoe”, with Goodyear Wingfoot rubber sole on a stacked wood heel, 5 eyelets and pointed toe. From the 1920s nurses’ uniforms required white shoes and nurses spent their time and money keeping up to regulations. This pair of shoes shows signs of being used and maintained, the original owner inexpertly touched up the white paint on the stacked heel and sole. Size 3D, model 8034. Cloth laces with beaded metal tips. In Queen Quality Shoes box with “The Boston Favorite Shoe” and Thomas G Plant Company label. Likely 1920s. Box 30 x 13.4 x 9 cm, lid missing sides. Shoes approximately 24 x 7.5 x 10 cm. Canvas discoloured in patches but sturdy and not torn, a very dainty working shoe.
