Claudine Married by Colette
Claudine Married by Colette
Claudine Married first appeared in French in 1902 under the title Claudine amoureuse (Paul Ollendorff) and was destroyed. The English translation from the Fleuron edition was first published in Uniform edition here, in 1960, and translated from the French by Antonia White. The Claudine series consists of four novels which describe the growth to maturity of a young girl, Claudine, of which Claudine Married is the third. This volume describes Claudine’s first year of marriage to a much older writer and critic, complicated by her affection for another woman.
