The Master of the House by Radclyffe Hall
The Master of the House by Radclyffe Hall
£800.00
Jonathan Cape, 1932.
Signed Limited edition, #85 of 167 copies, signed by Hall to the limitation page. Publisher’s quarter bound vellum over yellow cloth boards, titled in gilt to spine. Clean and sharp, although with some signs of water staining to the lower front of both boards, that does not however transfer to the page edges. An extremely attractive and opulently produced book. Internally clean, edges untrimmed and with positively decadent broad margins to the hand made paper. A gorgeous edition of what Una Troubridge described as Hall’s second novel centred around “A modern Christ like figure” in a small French village.
