Friends & Memories by Fleur Cowles
Friends & Memories by Fleur Cowles
Fleur Cowles recounts her life of many pursuits, such as painting, publishing, travelling, her marriages to two wealthy men, and anecdotes about her meetings with notable figures such as Salvador Dalí and Marilyn Monroe.
Cowles is known for being the founder of Flair Magazine, a short-lived but celebrated achievement. It had to be abandoned because her vision for the design and production wasn’t profitable enough, but the well-known contributors (such as Dalí) provided her with a broad social circle, many of whom are the subjects of the stories recounted in this memoir. It’s great gossip, in other words.
