Stunning late Victorian era hand-embroidered and hand sewn silk taffeta ladies pocketbook. Embroidered red swan or goose (swoose!) in tree against as cloudy bright blue-green sky on both exterior sides. Inner small pocket with strap, presumably to attach a mirror. Two brass birdcage snap fasteners. Shot silk fabric interior is lustrous red and green, showing its makers precision in choosing complimentary colours in design. Vibrant and near pristine condition. 11.5 x 16.5 cm folded.
