Jeanne d’Arc. Life size Jeanne d’Arc cut out. Lithography on board, reinforced with wood, painted and collaged shied added to top. Worn at edges with nail holes across surface to mount, but still vibrant. Incredibly tall!

Made in 1909, the year of Joan of Arc’s beautification as a Saint. Likely used by a church for a celebration on her beautification day. Name of printing company cut off at foot, “Imagerie E. P…” Joan wears a gold fleur-de-lis covered skirt with jeweled trim underneath a knight’s armor. She carries a flag depicting Jesus in the heavens. Text on flag “Jhesus Maria.” Her eyes are cast upward to heaven. Made in France.
