Written by the Pulitzer Prize winner and author of Ship of Fools, this is an autobiographical story of Porter discussing Christmas legends with her young niece. In 1958 Mademoiselle printed this special gift book for staff and associates of the magazine. The book, with its rose and ivory illustrations and matching endpapers, was designed by textile designer Tammis Keefe. A Christmas Story by Porter first appeared in Mademoiselle magazine in December 1946.
