Edith Head's Hollywood

Edith Head's Hollywood

£100.00

Costume designer Edith Head won eight Oscars for work in film during her lifetime, creating profoundly influential looks, from Dorothy Lamour’s sarong in The Jungle Princess to Bette Davis’s cocktail dress in All About Eve.

Head had her own signature look, and although her name is less recognizable than it should be to the general public, her image is, as the inspiration for the character of Edna, with her round glasses and geometric hair, in Pixar’s The Incredibles. This biography of Edith Head was completed after her death by LA Time journalist Paddy Calistro, based on previously taped interviews with Head. Foreword by Bette Davis. Fantastically illustrated with photographs of Edith Head and stars in her costumes alongside her design sketches.
